CMC & Surface Tension Analysis

The Critical Micelle Concentration (CMC) value determines the concentration of surfactant needed to reduce the surface tension of water before reaching its limit. When mixed with water, BGX can reduce its surface tension from about 72 mN/m to 26.56 mN/m. This reduction in surface tension will increase the area of contact of insoluble compounds (Hydrocarbons) and the enhancement of mobility of such compounds to facilitate the removal of petroleum pollutants.
